Researchers in Hamilton Ontario have found a connection between non-cardiac surgery and "silent strokes" - a stroke that does not have any outward symptoms typically associated with stroke. Studying over 1,000 patients over 65, researchers found that silent stroke survivors were at an increased risk for TIA and overt strokes one year later.
