
In September of 2019, British Columbia man Joel Rosenau suffered multiple strokes. As a result, the retired English teacher lost his ability to read. Determined to push his recovery forward, Joel has started using his favourite game show as a recovery tool.
Joel watches "Jeopardy" and uses the game clues that are shown on the television screen as reading material. He pauses his recording, works through the clue, then plays it to hear the show’s host, Alex Trebek, reading it. He's been working his way up over the past few months and has made a full grade level's worth of progress.
